  • Mini Golf Courses

I saw someone mention they were doing a mini golf course in TGC. Do many/any exist now?

I have a skytrak so i'm still waiting to see what the pricing options and requirements will be, but one of my kids loves mini golf and plays it on my P3 currently.

I'm building one for that purpose wbond. My wife and younger son have no interest in golf, but they are happy to play mini golf. There are a number of them out there, but a lot are pretty crappy. The best ones I've found are listed below. I still wanted something better (I'm a very particular guy!) so I've been working on my own and will let you know when it's released. I've attached some pictures for you to see it in-progress.

The better existing ones I've found are:

    Shady Oaks Island
    Bob's Putt Putt GC
    Miniature Putter Golf 4
    Rock Garden Mini Putt

As i said, i've attached a few pictures of the course i'm building - Palm Mountain mini golf. Highlights are a Plinko hole (ala The Price is Right), A hole built over the hull of a sailboat, and a 100 foot drop to a ramp over a ravine on the 18th hole (the signature hole the course is named for). Hopefully your son/daughter will love it!

Does anybody have any videos of themselves playing mini golf on a simulator? I'd love to see what it looks like to hopefully start getting my kids excited about "the golf room". I didn't even realize the potential for playing mini golf but I think it is a great way to get my kids having fun with the whole thing.

Last week I published "Big Rock Lake Mini Golf - 9 Hole". I haven't finished the Palm Mountain one...I left it to put out a quicker one to publish before the Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. I played this with my 11 and 7 (almost 8) year old sons today and they really enjoyed it. There are a few things I wish worked differently in TGC (it aligns you at the hole when putting regardless of waypoints, so you have to move your aim on a few holes, and objects between the camera and ball are rendered so there are a couple places objects obscure your view) but it was fun and anyone with younger kids should give it a shot. Pretty typical mini golf...and it works very well. A testament to the designer and the TGC engine.

rdh Did you finish and publish your palm mountain course? I couldn't find it when searching. We played your big rock lake, it was a lot of fun for the kids. The one with the raised mound was a little tough for them to gauge, but overall nice job.
