The ball takes off at the center of the screen from my understanding. Are there several camera options for the flight of the ball? I have played it on PS4, and not really ever totally mishit a ball. Does it show mishits accurately on the simulator and is the ball flight realistic? Are there an abundance of real well known courses available and if so, what is the best link? What bluetooth works the best with the GC2 and does swing sense help you get set up? Now that it is $995, it seems like a no brainer and what I need to part myself from FSX. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

-there are lots of camera options. You pick them.
-miss hits are shown accurately. Even shanks. High shanks and low shanks. Pop up and tops. All are shown.
-ball flight looks very realistic.
-there's a rediculas amount of courses. There's no link as the courses are in a database. There's a couple of sites that review courses but no link to all courses. Look up TGC Tours
--any Bluetooth will work but buy one with an extended range. They work better. I bought one from Amazon and it can be 15 feet from the GC2. I had a normal one and it had to be within 5 feet.My Courses:

The one gap right now is that the ball doesn't take off in the middle of the screen...you see the ball on the ground on-screen and it takes off from there. Requests have been made to change this, so we'll see if the next update does anything there. The mechanism is already in the software (there's a place to play around with the camera position/angle) so hopefully it's not a major change and can be done.
For simulator-friendly courses, ProTee has started a database at http://tgccloud.com/courses/GolfCourses_view.php. I've helped get it started, but it will need a lot of contributions to grow to the size it should be...it's just a short list of (mostly) recent courses right now. Some of them aren't up on the simulator edition yet...waiting for the next course sync.

I, as is col forbin, trying to decide whether or not to purchase TGC. Does anyone know how many of the PGA tournament courses are in this database? It would be nice to play a golf course in the sim while watching Jordan Spieth play that same course. I did review TGCTours.com but unsure if all of these courses can be played on sim and there is no search function. Also are there any links for videos of TGC being played in a sim. On You Tube a found a couple but mostly they are videos from computer monitor. Everyone raves about the graphics but difficult to appreciate one the sim videos I have reviewed. I understand this is also function of impact screen, projector quality, etc. Thanks.

Just about every PGA course is in TGC with more being added all the time. Every one can be played on the sim once ProTee has mirrored the course to its own database (which occurs every couple of weeks I think). The link above shows ProTee specific courses (ones with shorter distances, typically 6000 yards or so), but you are not limited to those courses. The courses are not licensed and so are all user created. Some are better than others, and some are quite amazing (Augusta, aka Magnolia, Chambers Bay, and Pinehurst to name just three). I recently purchased ProTee TGC and can highly recommend it. The realism is amazing once set up properly.

Thanks for all your feedback and help! I just sold the old Foresight software and plenty of courses on eBay and all will most likely purchase TGC soon. It seems like such a deal. I have the new FSX, but it is glitchy and Foresight takes forever to update software. I think it will eventually be great, but The Golf Club looks better graphically and if the playability is as good as everyone says, it is a must own. It would be great to have 2 options anyways. I can always use the FSX range.

The one thing I will say is seriously lacking on TGC is the driving range. With the new auto rewind function, and some great ranges like those built by rdh and Craig118, its an ok alternative, but it's not great as a true active range. Just something to consider if you're planning on using more for practice or dialing in club distances.

The next update for TGC is planned for December, which means January for the simulator edition. Hopefully it makes it for that otherwise it's probably not going to happen this winter. Fingers crossed...
Multiple ball trails (optional) and balls remaining on the ground would be my other desired improvements here. It was good in the red chain software to see your previous balls to get an idea on the dispersion and variance...even if it wasn't quantified.

So once you purchase the software I assume you can download the courses online. What is the file size of the courses? I also remember reading somewhere that you can only play some courses in tournamnet mode, is this correct? I would want to be able to play all the courses whenever I want and have the option to play online if I so please. Is this the case?

You can play any one of the 80k courses anytime you want but you have to be online (internet connected) to do so. If you don't have internet you will be limited to a small subset(I have heard a 100 courses). I haven't tested this as i am always connected. There is a course search screen where choose a course to play and it loads (downloads) it for you to play. There is no option to save courses yourself locally.
There are no file sizes shown but you can tell some courses take longer than others to initially load. Once loaded there a no delays.
