Didn't know where to put this, so thought I would start here.

I am watching the Wells Fargo on PGA Live and has been said many times its so much more fun watching these tournaments after we have played them on our simulators. But one of the things that has struck me is that how different they look with the "spectators" on the courses. Thought I would throw this topic out for discussion . . . Would you like to see course designers use spectators to develop these courses with all the seating, TV towers and what no, or do you like playing the courses in a non-tournament environment?

Personally I think it would be fun to play these real-life courses in a tournament style atmosphere. Is that even possible or would that take just too much computation power during the rounds? Seems like NBA/MLB games are able to recreate the complete atmosphere without much problem, but I'm not a developer/programmer.

That's a core decision HB studios made when they created TGC. They specifically wanted to create an amateur golfing experience that wasn't trying to mimic what EA's PGA Tour game does with spectators, TV towers, etc. I don't know that they'll ever bend on that (for TGC2?) but i'd love to see it.

for tournament format I think having spectators and towers/stands would create a more realistic feel. Not sure how hard it would be to have a course setup this way and copy it and have one with no spectator graphics for regular practice play.

You touched on it, but I'm pretty sure spectators would cause FPS to come to a crawl, making the game playable only with the extremely high end graphics cards. Courses with a lot of planting really hit your FPS now, so I'd imagine spectators would be even worse.

Would love to see spectators for our tournament rounds - especially if they groaned at a missed putt.
