Green Firmness and Stimp

I'm having trouble sticking anything on the green that doesn't have more than 6000 backspin. Everything I hit on the green just rolls right off the back. I have Green Firmness set to 0 and Green Stimp set to 3 in the text file before launching TGC, but this seems to barely have any effect. I want to mimick soft greens where basically most irons landing on the green would leave a divot drastically slowing the ball.

Can I get Green Firmness to negative for softer or is 0 the softest? Is there anything else I can do besides jacking up my backspin which would also kill my distances.

Minimums are higher than that. If you set below minimum it'll go to default. Depending on your hardware you can better adjust to stop that. The issue is in your settings. What hardware are you using?

Check all your settings. Something is set wrong. Sliders in GSX to 0 on everything. 2 on firmness, 7 on speed is my recommendation.

Using a GC2, you have the option of changing the greens ability to hold in GSX. There's sliders. Check the back spin sliders under the ProTee tab in GSX. More back spin, better holding.

For green firmness, the lower the number the softer. I believe you can enter 0. 6 on speed. Also, make sure you don't select putter when you chip. It'll not spin on the green. I set mine to 7 speed and 2 firmness. All my back spin sliders are set to zero. I have no trouble holding greens within reason. Sometime a long iron keeps going. Kind of like IRL

Ya I've been playing around with the backspin sliders, but it doesn't help much when you have a 5 iron with 2000 backspin land on the front of the green, bounce once and then seemingly gain 10000 front spin and roll right off unless its a massive uphill slope. Even if I jack up the backspin slider, it's not adding enough because it's percentage based, and then my 8 and 9 iron shots end up having way too much back spin.

I just wish we had the flexibility to adjust green firmness to the point where its like landing on a soaking wet green where it sticks like a lawn dart, up to landing concrete where nothing sticks.

I feel like adjusting green firmness makes a difference in roll of a yard or two at most.

I've only had that issue (bounce once and gain 10000 front spin) on one course. The course we played last week on tour.

If you're getting 2000 rpm with a five iron the issue isn't the software. I can't get that little spin if I try. It's really low.

I am a little confused about this also, so 1 for green firmness is the softest? The higher you go, it is firmer? Is "0" the softest or is "1" the softest?
So I assume everyone had trouble with the green been hard on the NGLA course?
I need to change stimp everytime I play even though I save it. Is that true for everyone?

Lowest stimp is 6, if you set it lower than that it will revert back. However if I set firmness to 0, it will keep the 0 after saving and playing. So I assume 0 firmness is the lowest.

The only way the number will revert back is if it's an unavailable number. Stimp of 5 will revert back to the default.
