    Best round ever!

IRL I am a 13-14 (that is where my GHIN handicap fluctuated all year), and my best ever round, sim or on the real course, was an 84 that I shot on my home course in 2015.

Yes, it's sim play. But breaking a barrier is breaking a barrier. This happened today... :-)

Good job! I also remember taking a picture of my first round in the 70's and sending it to my buddy. I still remember my first birdie on TGC. Exciting stuff that's for sure. About 300 rounds later.... improvement has slowed to a crawl.

Now fully aware that we get streaky, I also know that in real life golf improvements come in peaks and plateaus. I am hoping that the practice I've been putting in on ball striking has been paying dividends for a while now and maybe it's all just come together for a long haul. But even if it's not, I am enjoying this.

                    Today's follow up round. A 78.

I just hope I can take this ball striking out to the course tomorrow.

I went golfing today and clubs were completely on shot a 75 on a par 71 usually I am hitting an 80 +/-, but taking the simulator serious and keeping my game going I try everyday to play or practice, I felt the difference today in my hitting, I have never dropped so many shots on the green on my second shot, my friends in the foursome were in shock and I threw out that my sim is the reason, you might see three more joining the sim world......

Christmas coming early this year? That's what if felt like for me. I went from Red Chain to TGC and the difference was night and day.

Well, it was hard to fully judge yesterday but I came away with a lot of positives. The conditions were less than ideal, the greens had been sanded and putting was a total crapshoot because of that. Also on the back 9 the wind picked up (was in our face from 15 on) and we got stuck behind a few slow groups.

That being said, I shot a 41 on the front with 3 3-putts. At least two of those were directly related to the green conditions. Once the round ground to a halt and the wind picked up, I never got in a rhythm and shot a 48.

But my game 150 and in was similar to what I e been seeing on the sim lately. If that improvement is legit and long term, I will be very happy.

Yup, took a while to play simulator golf seriously and not like a video game.....concentration like outside, actually even more, because inside you can play very FAST! Sim golf IS a little easier, but you can still learn a lot. Double bogey on the first hole is NOT the end of the world. Went on to shoot 38 on front 9 outside the other day after a double on NO 1. I learned a lot about forgetting each shot/hole once it is done.

Forgetting about the last hole is important. I once started a tour round with a 10 on a par 4. I ended up shooting a 76. Handling your nerves is also something to practice with the sim. As John would say...... we're just going to forget about that last hole.
                          Working...
