  • Online tgc handicap system (no tgctour)

I'm writing here because I don't understand why for example I made -3 net in congressional and when at the end of the round my Hcp in tgc updates is higher respect to before. It appears the written minor decline!
Can u give me some explanations?!?

It's a mystery to me how TGC determines handicap, but interestingly after several rounds it's basically where my IRL handicap is.

TGC handicaps are based on course handicaps. Course handicaps in TGC are based on the scores that occur. Console players shoot super low. If you play courses that are played by console players you'll find the course rating is crazy low. Congressional would be rated in real life at 75 but in TGC console guys beat it up and the course rating becomes 65 so shouting even is actually 7 over the rating. If you play protee courses the ratings are based on TGC play.

3 less than your handicap is higher than the course rating. Think of par as -5.

As far as I know harder courses impact your handicap more than easier courses. Real life course handicaps are done by governing bodies. TGC course handicaps are done based on the scores. Since the scores are low, the course handicaps are super super low. Console people generally shoot 15 under par making course handicaps insanely low thus TGC deems these courses to be really really easy. In TGC, I've shot 69 and had my handicap go up.

mthunt So the courses that say (protee) are impossible to play on console?

There's 2 servers that I know of. A protee one and an HB one. Courses created in HB land are on their server. Courses created in ProTee land are on that server. ProTee syncs its server with the HB one so we get our courses. If the course is created on HB (most are) whether they are protee or not, we eventually get them. Courses created in ProTee land don't seem to end up on the HB server. Mine aren't there and I created them in ProTee.

Makes more sense, thanks. Was kind of wondering why the ratings for so many courses are so stupid low!

Hopefully with TCG 2, we'll have one course with multiple tees and pin placements, so the designers don't have to make different versions of the same course, i.e. Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun, Protee, etc...

That would be amazing. Not much else missing anymore. Proper drops aside.

It will be very easy to separate simulator from console! It can allow as to play in tgc with a right hcp!
