Aiming by clicking course thumbnail

Is it possible to aim the shot by clicking on the thumbnail of the course at the bottom left of the screen? Seems like I used to be able to do this but I can no longer make it work. Thanks

Yes. I do it all the time

Not only can you click it to get a target distance, which will be listed under the mini-map, you can then hit Q to zoom you to that spot to see if there are any surprises in store for you. Like "Oh hell, if I hit it there it'll bounce right like crazy and go right into the pond." That sort of thing.

You may need to click twice but it works fine
