  • New PC recommendations, gaming pc not required

    What up all,
Looking for suggestions for a new PC to run TGC2019 for my Mevo +. Right now I am running it on the lowest graphics settings on my 2011 Mac Mini (bootcamp). It runs "ok" but looking for a little better experience. I play in my garage so unfortunatly it can't be a normal desktop (otherwise I wouldn't be posting this) cause I have to bring it in and out after most times I play in the winter.
Was looking for something around $500, since the machine is really only going to be used for this purpose.

Was looking at some of the Lenovo mini pcs. Found a couple with an i7, 16 gigs DDR4 Ram and 256 SSD for around $450. Since it is a mini pc, the GPU is very underwhelming...but again it will probably be a huge upgrade after playing on what I have been using since I got the mevo last year. And I have been reading the threads about reshader which sound promising.

Anyone running on something like this or have any other suggestions?
    Thanks!

For someone else that my stumble on this...Bought a good MSI gaming laptop at walmart for $644. Playing with high graphic settings and reshade the game runs smooth as silk. Hereis the link to the laptop. Take note that the stats are better than they have written so you get a better machine. The i5 is 10500H, not 10300H and the RAM is 3200 not 2666. One of the reviews points all of this out. The machine is great though if anyone is looking for a new one.

Hi BostonGolfer, I live in Reading and am building SIM in my 1930's garage, why did you not want to keep pc out there. The cold?

      That MSI laptop seems nice

Kinda. I have my projector out all winter and that hasn't been an issue, but it has and LED bulb so doesn't get very hot...But what I have read about PCs having to do "cold starts" all of the time may produce condensation due to the heat after bootup.

I always bring the mevo+ in after all my sessions, so bringing in a laptop isn't an issue.

If you don't have a PC for your sim yet, I would definitely recommend that laptop. Buy it at walmart (think the N. Reading one had some in stock) due to the better than advertised stats. I bought my in NH to save a little money.
