  • Distance from tee to ball

I read in the installation manual that the device requires 12 feet from tee to ball.

As this is, as i have understood it, an optical LM why is that so? When i look at the pictures and read the manuals etc it seems the device read ball data the first yard or two, so why is there a need for 12 feet distance?

1st I don't think you mean tee to ball. I think you mean ball to screen. 2nd, you are correct it does not need all the room it suggests. All of the space is for safety sake. It, like all other optical based LM's only needs a few feet.

I confirmed with Doug at Uneekor that 12 feet is just a recommendation for bounce back safety purposes.

If you take the height from floor to the top of your screen and put your ball that same distance away from the screen that should give you a 45 degree angle to the top of the screen which should hold a full swing from a 60 degree wedge.

Yepp, it was a typo. I meant tee to screen.

Ok, then this is definitely an option.

Follow up. How wide is the area in which the ball is required to be positioned? The reason i ask is that i have a rathre narrow room and would like it to work with both left and right handed players.

The Uneekor hitting area is in the middle so it is designed to have LH and RH hit from the same spot. I think the GCHawk is offset but I am not sure. I would say the hitting window is approx. 18"x18" so that could buy you some room (ie Left handers hit from the far left of the hitting area and right handers hit from the far right). You would have to measure it to get it for sure...for what it is worth, they give you 30 days to return it if it is not working for you.

Great responses, that was exactly what i was looking for.

Looks really nice even though i think i have to mount it on rails in the roof and shift position for left and right, but it is doable.

I think 18 wide is stretching it, if it matters. Mine senses only 12 inches wide mounted on a 10 foot ceiling. And you should definitely talk to uneekor on the sliding track, there is calibration done when originally mounted, maybe you could calibrate in two different spots

I have a 13’ wide room and I am not able to place the ball in the middle(6’6”). My driver hits the wall behind me. 7’6” is the minimum distance for me(6 foot tall with a 46” driver). There is no way I can accommodate righties and lefties on my Uneekor(fixed hitting area.
