  • EYE XO & Multiple Hitting Areas

Is there a trick to getting the multiple hitting areas to work?

I have a TrueStrike matting so getting the normal hitting area to overlap both the gel strip as well as the tee area is difficult and doesn't take full advantage of the space.

I installed my EYE XO and fired it up today for the first time, did the calibration with the one hitting area selected as it says in the manual. Everything worked great, instant ball recognition, accurate results as I was testing it out with iron shots. Then I decided I wanted to hit some drivers so I went back to the EYE XO Tool and tried to set the multiple hitting areas and couldn't get it to read anything - not in the green, red or blue squares. Recalibrated and still nothing until I went back to single hitting area and then it was fine.

I moved my mat to get the tee inside the single hitting area and it worked, albeit maybe a little slower to recognize the ball but that could have been because it was still at the edge of the zone.

Anyone had success setting this up?

I asked Uneekor about multiple hitting areas and they told me to just use one area. The way he said made me think that multiple hitting areas doesn't work that great on EYE XO. I didn't ask for more details because I didn't care that much. I also have truestrike and use only the gel area. I bought Birtees (great so far) instead of the rubber tee's mounted into the truestrike.

Interesting. I'll reach out to Uneekor as well. I'm okay with it being in development but if it doesn't work then they should remove it. I ordered the Birtees earlier tonight as a backup plan so that may be what I have to do for now.

I tried to get it to work so I could putt from next to the truestrike. No success. I think multiple areas is limited to the same size as a single area, so no advantage to having it on. I set up my single are so that it covered 2/3 the width of the gel mat and extended a few inches onto my putting surface. You might be able to do the same to get your tee zones included.

Problem is the tee zones sit a little further from the edge. In order to get the tee to read consistently in the "same zone" I only have about 1-1/12 ball widths on the gel strip. Since the gel strip is the main reason I bought the TrueStrike that seemed like a waste

In the software, I was able to get it set so that I had my green box (main hitting area) entirely on the gel strip and the smaller red box (tee hitting area) where my tee slot was... it just didn't pick up anything.

Hopefully this is something Uneekor is still working on to develop but in the meantime I think I'm just going to use the Birtees.

Surprised you cant stretch yours enough to cover the tee holes. I don't use mine, but they are about 2 or 3 inches from the gel section aren't they?
