  • What to use to mark out hitting zone on EyeXO

Wondering what people are using to mark out their hitting area for the EyeXO. Was annoyed with just an empty mat (5'x10') and wanted a visual reference with where to place the ball easier. Tried green, blue and red gaffe tape and ran into an issue with the sensor not liking the tape. Was gonna try the standard black next but wondering what other people are using to mark their spots.

Based on the color of tees that don’t mess with the sensor I would guess you’re best off with dark colors, black, green, dark blue all work well with tees at least so i would start there. (Though in my case I haven’t bothered marking it off as the QED area is big enough people don’t seem to have a problem getting it lined up correctly )

I wonder if they will ever improve the size of the hitting zone on the Eye XO? Seems like something that would be high on the priority list.

Would be great if they could widen the hitting zone on the EyeXO, but its ok as long as its marked

It’s never been a problem for me, but all you would really need is reference points outside of the hitting zone. For example, you could have two lines in front of you designating the front and the back, and one line going towards the screen showing dead center. I have a center line taped out for alignment anyway.

My unit beeps when I am in Hitting zone so I just rely on the sound to tell me when I'm in it. My mat is slightly worn in the hitting area so it is easy for me to see it as well. I will say when my kids are hitting I stick a black tee in the mat off to the side of the hitting zone about 5 inches so from ball. All they have to do is put ball in line with tee and they are good to go. Hope this helps.

I have a QED. I mounted an overhead LED spotlight just forward of the tee position to avoid shadows and adjusted the circumference of the light beam to be exactly the same size as the QED hitting area. Makes it super easy for guests, I just tell them they can put their ball anywhere in the circle of light.
