  • Third party connector software no longer free?

I've been looking at the QED and had read a number of places that it came with the 3rd party connector software for free. But noticed today on Uneekor's website it shows it x'd out on free package and only available on the "Pro" package for $199 or higher. Called and was told that about a month or two ago they made this change and that anyone registering one now, whether bought new, or used as a re-sale would not have access to the 3rd party connector software.

Anybody have any real-world data to verify this change? I was in the used market and part of what was interesting to me was not having a subscription to use it with third party software. Has anyone tried to register one in the last month or two and noticed if this was the case?

There is a license transfer process including perpetual licenses for 3rd party connection. An older QED or EyeXO should have this and it's tied to the serial number.
If you're considering buying a used one, get the serial number from the seller and ask Uneekor direct if that unit's license can be transferred without needing to activate a new subscription.
I think they're deliberately vague about it to try and get people to sign up for the subscription

It doesn't apply to EyeMini or EyeMiniLite which require the subscription for access to 3rd party connector and always have.

I haven't done this, just read about it elsewhere so YMMV.
