  • QED End of Life?

I just got an email from Uneekor offering to take my QED in on trade towards and EyeXR.

This is what it says "With the QED approaching its official end-of-life on December 31, 2026, Uneekor is offering an exclusive Trade-In Program for QED units only, with credit up to $4,800 available towards a new EYE XR purchase!"

Do you think this end of life date is just an ending of support date, or do you think they will completely shut down all QED's?

Came here looking for discussion on this upgrade trade in QED email. Hope your post gets some traction around here soon.

IMO, they can't shut them down. I think it would be no more support for the QED, no more updates, no troubleshooting issues or help with setup.

I suspect they are offering this because every model of Uneekor listed has an annual fee it seems. Maybe I read it wrong so correct me please if this is not true. Must be some issue with them being able to charge the annual fee for QED users.

The XR does not really seem like an upgrade over the QED for my use. I wonder why I don't get full trade in value either, it said my QED was $3300 trade value. Is the $4800 trade in with every accessory like the cams or something?

Even if it was a $4800 trade in offer, I would want that towards any unit and not just the XR. Holding out for a while because $3300 for the hassle is not enough credit to buy the XR imo.

My trade offer was $3300 as well. I'm on a Uneekor group on facebook and the guys that bought one more recently were getting the full $4800. I'm suprised they aren't offering us more to try and get us on a subscription based plan. Another member from that group reached out to Uneekor and this was their response:

"To anser your question, the QED will keep functioning, however, here are some points to take into account:
End-of-Lofe (EOL) refers to the point in time when a product-usually software or hardware-is no longer supported by the manufacturer or developer.

      Here's what it typically means:

      For Software:

      - No more updates or patches: Including security updates, which makes it risky to keep using.

      - Might not work with new systems: As other software and hardware evolv, EOL softare may stop being compatible.

      - No more technical support after December 31 2026.

      - Examples: Windows 7 reached EOL in January 2020-Microsoft stopped supporting it after that.

      For Hardware:

      - No repairs or parts: The company stops making replacement parts or offering repairs.

      - No softare updates: Firmware or drivers may stop being updated.

The EYE XR will need to have a yearly subsription in order to use the Third Party Connector with other games such as GSPro."

And then the very next day I get an email for their 20% off sale which loweres the price of the EYE XR $1400. You still have to pay full price if you take the trade deal, so no my $3300 trade in is now effectively worth $1900. I think I'll just ride the QED until it stops working and then move on from Uneekor.

I'm in the same boat...and will do the same. Ride it out as long as possible until a better option or offer comes along.

Imagine Protee giving QED users $2500 - $3000 trade in. Capture that market share.

Same here, I'll just ride it out. I haven't kept up with the latest and greatest since I bought my qed used, so I'll have to get up to speed when the time comes. For some reason the subscription model rubs me the wrong way, but my gs pro annual fee doesn't bother me
