First Time Buyer - Students

Hey Guys,

I am looking to buy my first golf sim and put it in my apartment. We have a room that would actually work perfectly for a small sim, it has 10 foot ceilings and is fairly wide. We will most likely be hitting into a net while looking at a computer/tv screen.

Any advice on how to secure a reasonable sim on a student budget? When new simulators come out will the price of used ones come down? I have seen a couple used sims posted on this website for about 2K and that is just not feasible for right now. We are very willing to find our own turf/screen it is mostly just the ball launcher we would need. We're also feeling pretty down about the OptiShot after reading reviews but the SkyTrack looks promising!

SkyTrak is your best option right now - probably a used one or if you run into a sale. There have been quite a few for sale recently on this forum. I will be selling mine on here within the next week.

I would hit up Joko for his Skytrak before someone else PM's him and tries to buy it. Skytrak is a huge jump from Optishot I think most would say. Used Skytrak's are not that common and hold their value VERY well.

Also make sure that you pay attention to the online golf retailers, spring time is right around the corner and there will probably be some sales as well as some manufacturer deals. Last month people were using a coupon + the manufacturer $300 off and picking up Skytraks for <$1600 from RBG.
