  • Anyone have Insurance for their Launch Monitor

If I purchase a $15k car I always get full coverage insurance. I'm wondering if anyone has purchased insurance for their 5 figure launch monitors. I'm not even comfortable leaving my launch monitor in my car when it's worth as much as half the cars on the road. If you do have insurance on it how much are you paying and who did you use to insure it?

If you are buying that much insurance it your car insurance is probably covering it when it is in your car and your personal property portion of your home insurance is most likely covering it when you are at home. Make sure to document S/N #'s as per usual big ticket items.

Oh and shoot an email/call your insurance agent to be sure of course.

I can't speak for every state as they all have varying guidelines. But in Michigan it would be covered under the personal property portion of your homeowners insurance, whether its at home or elsewhere. As long as you have replacement cost on personal property, your launch monitor would be the same, subject to your policy deductible. You could always schedule it onto your home policy and pick a smaller deductible, however, it would then be covered on an actual cash value basis, which would then take depreciation into account.
