New to me gc2 .... Now what? Your simulator software suggestions please

I just bought a new to me GC2 serial number 1700. I have everything figured out as for as my simulator goes except the software. I'm mostly interested in owning it as opposed to renting it in the cloud fwiw.

1. What are my simulator software options?
2. What is your favorite and why?
3. Any tips on buying the software? I know some software companies don't knowingly want to sell you their product if you plan to use it with certain launch monitors.
4. Any other thoughts?

Again provide links to other threads discussing this if you know of any if you'd like.

It you want to own it, your main options are FR1, FSX, E6, and TGC. The first two are made by Foresight. The general consensus is that they are more suited for practice by having better stats. FR1 has been discontinued but you can sometimes pick up a security dongle used. FSX is their current one which costs around $2300 with 5 courses I think. You have to buy each additional course on top of that. E6 is around $1800 with about 15 courses, then you can buy additional course packs. TGC is $1000 and has something like 140k courses, although most are geared towards the video game player as opposed to simulator. There are more like 100 really good simulator ones that are recreations of actual courses. Someone a few posts before you is selling their TGC license for $650. For that price, I would say buy it and try it out. If you don't like it you can recoup most of your money by re-selling it.

In my personal opinion TGC and JNPG are the best two sim softwares available. I used e6 in a sim near me a couple of times and then tried the demo. I personally didn't care much for it especially having to spend so much money purchasing additional courses.

I agree with main st. I used to have fr1 and have since sold it. I have fsx and mainly not use it for its superior web cam integration for game improvement. For pure sim, I think TGC and PG are the best options and the best value. I haven't tried e6 before.

Andy did a good posting on this for sure and is pretty accurate but i will chime in
1. there are multiple options for the GC2 ( JNPG, E6, TGC, FSX, FR1)
2. I own TGC and am waiting for TGC2 to come out to see what it entails would also like to see a good driving range and combines with it as JNPG has and if it fixes the issues with group gaming, but right now i am solely playing JNPG and loving it as i honestly only play group online rounds with guys in scrambles and prefer this to sitting in the sim room by myself hitting away
3. yea all options are open for the GC2 which is very nice for all the software possibilities
4. my thought is to get onto you tube do your research of the software and make a decision that works best for you and what you are looking for in a game but right now i feel the best on the market is between two softwares TGC and JNPG
