  • Need help with upgrading sim room

    Hello all,
I currently have a net return/skytrak setup and would like to upgrade to impact screen w/ projector. I was initially thinking about a microbay or mini bay from Allsports but found that the wall mounted screens look much cleaner/professional. My unique situation is that I have a closet sitting on the left side of the otherwise 13ft room, limiting my screen real estate to be 10ft and change which is where the closet door (sliding) is located. Would the wall mount system work for my setup? Currently moving the closet out of the room is a no option per the wife.
Any advice would be really appreciated! Thank you!!

can you put that closet that looks mobile tight to the wall where your net is and built the screen in front of it

If you decide to keep the net return and just add the sim screen to it, give these guys a call. http://virtual-golf-simulator.com/ab.../golf-screens/ I bought a replacement screen from them and it has held up and worked really well.

I wouldnt buy the sim screen from the net return people. its twice the price and half the quality..

How deep is the room? If it's deep enough you could get creative with the space and build a screen off of the walls and move the closet as aero suggested above. What type of flooring do you have and can you screw into it? If so, move the closet to the back wall. You could use an EMT foot pad on the left wall near the ceiling, then go across about 2-3' to a T EMT connector. This will give you a walkway on the left side to get to the back of the room to the closet that would be behind your screen. From the T connector, you would have a pole going straight down to the floor with a foot pad on the floor. From the T connector on the top, you would then have a pole that would continue straight across to the wall on the right with a foot pad on the right wall close to the ceiling.

Basically you need three foot pads, a T emt connector, a short piece of EMT for the left side (this will dictate how wide you want a walkway), a vertical piece of EMT for the upright on the left side and a horizontal piece of EMT for the top cross bar. Now you mount the screen to the upright EMT on the left, to the top crossbar emt and to the wall on the right using angle iron.

screen just hangs and then use bungies and tarp clips on side and bottom takes a couple minutes to get access to and reattach

I have 17ft depth, I'm having a hard time visualizing it, sorry do I need to have a baffle net as well as the screen or just the screen?

put together a simple C frame out of strut or emt hang screen and add side wall and ceiling fabric if needed for flop shots

Okay, so I was able to convince my wife to move the closet out of the room, with that being said, the room is 12.5 ft wide, can I install a 12ft screen? in other words, is 3 inches each side enough room to stretch the impact screen enough not to get wrinkles with the angled irons and bungee cords? or do i need to go to a smaller screen?

Secondly, what size netting do i need behind it and any recommendation for an affordable option?

Lastly, what material/product do i use to cover up the angled irons and bungee cords between the wall and screen?

Thank you so much, im getting very excited to finish this project!
