  • Help - newbie

Hi everyone - i'm currently using the demo version of e6 and really like the graphics and overall play of the software. I am using it with a Flightscope Xi Tour so I'm very frustrated that I can't do a short chip shot (even with the most recent firmware updated yesterday) or putt. The putting I can get around but obviously can't even finish a hole if a short chip can't be played.

I know the cost of the full e6 software but wanted to get some opinions on what the lowest cost tracking system would be that would allow me to play complete rounds including short chip shots and maybe even putting.

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Dice,

As a full time golf coach, I've spent a lot of time using e6 but always ran into the same issues with FS and Trackman where I needed the ball to travel a certain distance (and height) to track. I tried out Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf because I saw the price point for one and plus I saw the course options. I also wanted the separate tees for my students because their skills can vary. So far so good for me, I've enjoyed the short game. I actually feel like I can read a shot and play accordingly i.e. fairway lie uphill green I know I can play something with check, from the rough it needs to run out etc... Definitely give it a look cause it's the first time I've actually enjoyed the short game on a simulator and I've been playing since 2000.

Can Flightscope play JNPG? I know Trackman can’t.

And to answer OP’s question, you need to either get

Radar: Flightscope X3 (released but still working on the game software integration), Trackman 4
Camera: Skytrak, GC2, GC Quad, other room ceiling mounting solutions.

Note that Camera system is cheaper except ceiling mount solution. The cheapest option is Skytrak.

trackman and flightscope are in beta testing and can be played for free with no cost to you on this except for the 30.00 purchase of the game might be worth taking a look at

e6 works well with SkyTrak...chipping from off green or fringe...putting on the green. One frustration is that putts from the fringe usually die immediately. It seems that SkyTrak gets put into a chipping or putting mode by the e6 software. It's not perfect, but workable.

I use E6 for a year now and absolutely love it. Just the cloud thing is still a field with room for improvement.
