looking at the optishot vs the r-motion. I have read a bunch of the reviews and watched a ton of videos. This question is how is the game play on one vs the other? I know the r-motion is expensive to get the upgrade software but from a graphics and tournament play standpoint which would you recommend?

I have a optishot and its fun to play. The graphics are ok compared to TGC and the course selection limited. I have done a bunch a research on all the systems. I decided to go with the r-motion which I will be purchasing soon. I just want to play golf on some great courses and maybe play some tournaments. I'm not looking to use this for practice or improve my game. The optishot can be difficult to set up at first lighting, taping clubs, etc. and I feel it exaggerates fades and draws. My opinion on the r-motion is from watching reviews and game-play videos which look great and have great results.

I have both and it’s not even close. The amount of work that goes into configuring Optishot just to have it misread is frustrating. To me Optishot is more “video game.” R Motion all the way. I recommend you purchase the additional clips right away. While you don’t need them it adds to the experience by being able to use all clubs. TGC license upgrade is well worth it.

Rmotion hands down. I had Optishot and enjoyed it while I had it but once I got Rmotion, I never once used Optishot again and ended up selling it. I don’t have bad things to say about Optishot I just think Rmotion is much better. I 2nd what HeMan says about extra clips.
