  • Protee vs. SkyTrak

i know this question has been asked a lot but I am still wrestling with what system to get. My sim will be permanent and the space is approximately 12x9x16 (screen will be 12x9). I am a 6 handicap and my 12year old is a 15 handicap. We will both using the system primarily but will be having friends over to play as well. I like the idea of ball and club data the Protee provides over the ST and it appears the accuracy is better as well once you get the system setup correctly. It looks like play will be comparable with both since I will be using TGC. But I also want to use the system for practice and improving my game, especially my scoring irons and from what I can gather that’s where ST has the edge. So here’s a few questions:

    1. Given those requirements what do you think is the best system?
    2. What type of practice and game improvement capabilities does Protee have and how do they compare to the ST?
    3. How does putting compare between the two system without the Protee putting sensor? Is that a must buy? What about the horizontal camera?
    5. If I get the ST to start and buy the one-time TGC license can I transfer that to Protee in the future if I decide to make the switch? Do I need to? Looks like there are transfer fees from ST to GC2 but not sure about to Protee. Is it included?
    6. Is the difference in cost worth it?
    7. Do I have enough space to utilize the Protee? I was planning to get an enclosure that extended 10’ and hit from around 12-13’ but read some things about ideal placement of the Protee. If I opt for this route should I only do a 5’ enclosure and hit closer to the screen?

really appreciate feedback and insights and I am thankful for this forum.
