CG2 (Not CG2a) with TGC and Protee

    Hi All,

Can I use TGC or Protee with a CG2 that is NOT bluetooth enabled ?

If not has anyone had success with a bluetooth transmitter or do you have to send it back to foresite ?

Any help would be great thanks.

All GC2‘s have Bluetooth built in. The ones with an A in the serial number will work with Apple devices but you don’t have to have an A one to use TGC or Protee. If the Bluetooth module inside is broken though, I don’t think it is something that can be repaired without sending it in to foresight.

My GC2 is the non A version and it works fine with TGC. I also have the megaflash from andygg1986 and it works flawlessly.

Thanks for the info, however mine is the original CG2 and is not bluetooth enabled. I can only use the usb to connect to a computer. I have been running PING n Flight on it for about 7 years this way. Can I run TGC or protee with a cable connection ?

I already have a quote from foresite to bluetooth my machine for $500 so just need to know if I need to do that or not.

        Thanks in advance.

You cannot run TGC via the usb cable. Have you installed the foresight drivers on your computer from their website? It might not show up in device manager under Bluetooth devices if you don’t have the drivers installed. There is no “enabling” the Bluetooth. I have seen the Bluetooth working on Nike branded ones which are pre GC2. One just sold on eBay about a month ago. They have serial numbers less than 500, so if yours is newer than that it shipped with Bluetooth working.

I guess Foresight go to number is $500 - I have GC2 A and the
Bluetooth board went out and it was $500 to replace what a deal

Thanks again andygg1986 you were correct. I cant believe foresight had me believe that I had a non bluetooth version and needed to spend $500 to upgrade it !!

I can connect to my phones and laptop but not the PC I purchased to run TGC? What is the best bluetooth dongle I should get ? The one I have can see it sometimes but wont connect.

Also do I need to buy protee to run tgc or can I just get tgc ?

Thanks again you guys have been great.

Get the Asus bt400 adapter and an extension usb cable so you can put it right next to your GC2. When you buy TGC you will get the Protee interface and GSX that you need to run it included

Make sure all your settings are correct as show on the forum sticky post. I have a pre "a" version and was having similar issues. Turns out I had com port mismatches in the software. Also beware that windows updates will occasionally reset these (thank you Redmond).
