Well i shouldn't say ALL my problems, but golfing related I think over the pat couple of years these things have been the root of my frustrations..
My short game on the PT was just not working correctly so I got the bright idea to try a real golf ball. Sure enough my launch is way higher with a real golf ball. Which obviously causes a softer bounce and less roll. Instantly problem solved.
I played this past weekend in real life and what I typically struggle with is early round blowups. Mostly caused by being way too tense and swinging way too hard. After I slow it down and get into rhythm my game comes around.
So I decided this week to try my 8iron with a real golf ball on the protee.. Higher launch, faster ball speed, and instantly i'm getting my normal distances. Nice smooth 8 iron. I Did this over and over and each time it's reading perfectly, getting my distances, etc..
Sooo i put my almost golf ball down and again with the super smooth swing BLAH.. way lower trajectory and about 25 yards short
if I REALLY go at it I get my distances and that's what I've been doing. It's my own fault for not figuring this out sooner, but i've just been compensating by swinging harder all this time.
It carries over to the real course because i spend so much time practicing on the simulator that swing hard is all my muscles remember.
Now my dilemma is that I'm not set up to hit real golf balls with higher speed clubs. So I'll be redesigning for like the 4th time my sim setup.
Some may have bad better luck with these things, but my advice to newbies is just pony up and design your system such that you can hit real golf balls.
