  • Best Multiplayer platform.

What is the best multiplayer platform? Both on and offline. Pros and cons of the multiplayer platforms. I am stuck between TGC2019 and E6. Much appreciated.

    THanks

Thanks Wiz, I just bought something called a truestrike...? not sure how good it is, but hopefully it'll get the job done.

Yeah, me too. I just set up my sim today, and am very excited to join the community. I read about CCE injuries and didn't bother with one and went straight for the upgrade.

Your question in pretty ambiguous. What exactly are you looking for in Multiplayer? Multiple players playing? For that TGC is perfect. Do you want scrambles and other weird stuff? Maybe something else.

My mom always says don’t expect great answers to less than great questions.

But Seriously, Duke, you need to read and search the forums for a while, answers will be unearthed. You got tangential there, it's hard to digest.

You shoot the zombies in software other than TGC. ProTee and FSX have zombies. TGC2019 works great online and remote for multiplayer. The limits are no scramble and and only 4 player max. Offline local multiplayer works fine.

It’s the software I prefer over all of them. People that want 8 player mode must have a list of patience and a really big room. That game would take 8 hours.

I started out with E6 1.6 then got TGC 1. When I joined the sim tour, I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner. In my opinion the E6 1.6 software had better practice and multiplayer options. But with the release of TGC 2019 that has changed. There are still some multiplayer bugs with TGC 2019 but ProTee is very good about working with their consumer base. I haven't tried the new E6 Connect software. Also, E6 courses are Expensive. TGC has unlimited courses. A user on this forum created an import tool for TGC2019 so users can make recreations of local courses and famous courses very accurately in a few hours. I also agree with MTHunt, once you figure out you can play 18 holes in less than an hour, the 8 person 6 hour games will be less of a thing. I dont know if I answered you question. Just giving my opinion. I only have experience with local multiplayer and only stroke play format. We have an online match play tournament going on TGC 2019 going right now. That was my first experience with online multiplayer. I also have JNPG, but I dont think that is an option for you.

Do you have your sim to mainly practice and improve or is it more of a social thing to have your buddies over and play while having some cold ones?

Can you comment on how JNPG compares to TGC2019 in your opinion?

        Thanks Kal,

I only set it up a few days ago, so practice is what I'm doing the most of now. But I am planning on using it with big groups at least once a week at all skill levels. It sounds like most everyone around here prefers the sim tour and TGC2019. Also if 6-10 are playing, shorter games are probably better.

Thanks again for the help. I look forward to being on the sim tour soon.

I stand corrected. JNPG does have local and online multiplayer. I have no experience with it as I thought it was single player only. JNPG also has different combines. One similar to Trackman but also putting, driving, approach, etc. They also have really in depth stats, like proximity, strokes gained, etc.

My family really enjoys multiplayer with TGC2019 but unfortunately a major bug has not been fixed yet. That is, if you are playing with a friend / spouse / kid and don't finish you cannot pickup where you left off when you come back. Well actually, you can continue, but your spouse, kid, friend's progress will be lost and only you will remain.
I assume this will be fixed at some point but haven't heard confirmation that it is a priority yet.

This was never fixed on TGC1 so I wouldn’t think it’ll change on 2019. I hope I’m wrong.

Kinda mind blowin' huh. I assumed this would get done, so surprised I was wrong. Thankful they added the shorter tees so I can play with my son and wife.
    Working...
