OK my current setup is a Skytrak with a TV mounted on the wall and I'm hitting into a green archery net hung from the ceiling in my garage. It works. I love it, however I'm going to upgrade a bit. I have some constrictions in my current setup that and my future setup that is creating some challenges.
1. My garage is 20x22 with 12' ceilings.
2. One bay (the garage on the right) has a high-lift garage door so the tracks are well out of the way
2a. This garage bay also has a 4 post car lift in it (the reason I went with highlift doors)
3. Bay two (the garage I currently hit in has a normal track door that I have to hit away from the door in order to clear the tracks.
4. In the center of the garage to enter the house there is a door and some steps that intrude into the garage.
After a few scares with some shanks I have now started moving my car on the lift out of the garage when I'm hitting and I'm planning on doing so in the future.
The problems I currently face are this.
Option #1. I could build a platform on the lift base (which is like 4-5") above floor height and hit towards the the garage bay wall where I'm currently hitting, however the garage tracks are in the way of the club path, unless i'm offset by a huge margin. Solution is to high-lift that garage door to get it out of the way and that in turn would also allow me to keep my hitting platform out of the way each time and not have to move it (since it will be on the tracks of the lift) Cost to do so... (around $800-$1000)
Option #2. Hit from the other bay towards the lift. Problems exist here as well. The width between the posts is less than 13' feet (Still worried a little bit about a shank in that scenario) Also I'd have to guard against a topped or thinned ball as the steel lift tracks could be hit. Another problem is the ball returning... It will hit the impact screen and drop into the tracks or between the tracks of the lift. (This could get annoying to have to each time go get the ball as it will almost never return (unless I create some sort of return board or something( another thing I'd have to put away.) Cost (minmal but annoying)
Option #3. I call this the dream option... Build a 16x 24 barn/garage on my property how I want it... Problem... Wife will kill me...
