How much clearance do you need behind you??

So I have a 13’ wide room. I am going to center the ball right at 6’6”. So if I am 6 feet tall and swing a 46” driver will I be in danger of hitting the wall behind me at the top of my backswing??

It’s pretty close. You’ll be concerned about the wall a lot. Having said that it should be ok.

I'd go in the bare room and slowly swing the club around, then with someone watching swing it faster and faster and have them share how much you're clearing obstructions. I hung my whole net setup and later found I was barely clearing the hanging down garage door opener. Then tore the net and screen off the ceiling of the garage and did it again. A witness/slash helper can save you a you of damage and re-do hassle.

8 feet minimum is the clearance needed behind a 6 foot tall upright swinger using a 46 inch driver. 7 feet of clearance is tight but I scraped the wall a couple of times.
