  • Setting up a Sim Build

I am sure this has been beaten up more than a few hundred times but seeking advice on my setup that I am planning to put together. Below is what I am planning to put together:

    - SkyTrak
    - e6 Golf
    - Spornia Net
    - CCE 4 x 5 mat
    - 50in TV
    - Ran through my laptop

Going for a portable setup to begin so that I can move between work and home with the setup. I also am trying to stay around 3k. I am doing it for simulation but also the capability to hit a lot more balls with the range on SkyTrak. Is there any other additions or replacements that any of you would recommend? I would love club data but I do not know if there is any other piece of equipment that I could pair with the proposed setup. Any and all advice is appreciated.

When you say moving it between work and home, how often do you plan on doing that? And are you lugging the 50 inch TV with you each time you go back and forth?

I have a SkyTrak, and highly recommend it for the price.

I would guess that most people use TGC 2019 instead of e6. The course designer is a huge plus to me. I'm currently working on adding my home course using LIDAR data and openstreetmaps.

I would also say that Fiberbuilt is a more popular mat that's proven to work well with ST, and prevent injuries. I've never owned a CCE mat, but from what I've read, many people complain about injuries after using them, and end up switching to a different mat.

What model of laptop do you have, and which video card? that's the most important component.

hope that helps. good luck and enjoy the ride.

The TV will be the office setup. That is where most of the use will take place and using just a stand with the iPad/laptop at home. Not moving a tv back and forth.

If you are just hitting into a net, I would just get a portable net for each location, then just move the skytrak and computer. TGC is the best. If you want club data you would need to move up to a GC2 with club module or the new optishot ballflight. Now you are in the 6k for ballflight and 12k for GC2. thx golfsimulatorsite
