Feature with short wedge target alternative to putting simulation?

I've got ~4 weeks to wait on a Mevo+ so been killing time by diving into it's capabilities. From reading the forums I understand putting is not great with radar which isn't a big deal to me.

However, I've been thinking about the Top Tracer sim at my local range and they have a feature when playing a course where anytime you are within say 30 yards of the green, you then have a ring game with a target ~40 yards out where proximity to the pin determines birdie/par/bogey/etc. Does anyone know if there is a name for this option or whether any apps out there support it?

Seems like it would be a good option for radar devices like the Mevo+

    Thanks!

I don’t know if your generalization for radar is all that accurate. I believe there is even a Mevo+ video out there showing 5 foot putts. Chipping less than 30 yards is also not an issue. Once on the green some sim software has an auto putt feature to come up with a number of putts from where you are, but I had thought a times you could get a score like 1.4 putts (might be on foresight software) and I would rather just putt then with an 8 foot gimme range.

As Dax says, most software will allow for auto putt etc if you don’t want to putt. Personally I love chipping and putting on sims. Lots of sims like Protee, GC2, Uneekor , ES16 etc. do a great job with the short game. Hopefully Mevo + improves the short game with software updates.

Appreciate the feedback. Glad to know Mevo+ should be able to do a serviceable job with putting, but don’t plan to have runway with my backyard set-up so the feature I’m describing would be ideal for feeling like I have control over a score rather than AI auto putting.
