Product to reduce bounce back in garage setup?

Is there a common foam or other product to put behind screen that people like around here?

I built my entire enclosure out of plywood with interlocking gym floor tile over top. It makes for a nice finished appearance and is 3/4" thick, so it works very well for absorbing errant shots. It's only $1/SF so it's pretty reasonable to do a decent sized area.

Here's a few from the build process. I'm still not completely finished but I'm close. I own a building materials business and hardware store and after a lot of consideration, this was the best idea/product I could come up with. I'm very happy with the results. It looks professional/commercial, is easy to work with, and the cost really can't be beat.

How did you attach the foam tiles to the plywood?

Many tubes of construction adhesive and the occasional deck screw. They're think enough that the deck screws will never be hit with a ball after you recess them.

Behind the impact screen I hung the memory foam below which I got from amazon in simple large cloth bags...for the walls and surround I have a combination of premade Vant panels and ones I made myself for the uniquely shaped areas.

I recently had the same question for the forum. There were some helpful responses and I decided to go with hanging moving blankets with tarp clips behind the screen. Works amazing. Ball stops relatively dead.

did you hang the blankets on the same line as the screen?

I think the answer to your question is yes. I hung them loosely from the same pole. The blankets don’t cover 100% of the screen - more 80% but that’s more than enough.

Is your bounce back concern from the screen or floor?

There many strategies on this forum to mitigate bounce from screen. As for garage floors the solutions I think it really depend on wether or not you will need to park a car directly on sim area.

It’s not pretty, but it was such a pain to replace my original screen in my old enclosure that I folded my old screen in 3 and hung it in front of the screen. Sound is down 80% and bounce back is practically zero.

Also, I suspended it by carabiners so I can take it down if I have company.
