  • Skytrac vs Mevo + - Looking for midrange setup

I am trying to build an inexpensive simulator in my basement. I want something that will get me and my son better at the game, and something that we can have buddies over to play a "virtual" round. I was set on getting the optishot 2, but then I watched all these videos that talk about how you have to tweak the SW to get your true distances/etc. That scared me into looknig at something that is a little more accurate and can grow as our games grow.

After I took optishot off the table, I was set on skytrak. But then I noticed all the other costs involved to get a simulator that 4 guys can play in my basement. That $1999, gets close to $3000 really quick. Lastly I looked at Mevo+ and am impressed with everything I get out of the box. Seems like for $1999, I can accomplish both of my basic needs.

    Thoughts?

If you are looking to accommodate lefty and righty play, then Mevo+ likely resolves your issue. If you don’t have the space for the Mevo+, then this would also solve your issue. The biggest thing to remember for radar is that you have to ensure you have enough room (I would also give yourself at least a couple of feet above the min suggested as the more the better. If in your garage, and you are hitting into a screen with a metal garage door behind, then this could also be an issue. Both are good units with their pluses and minuses, but neither is perfect. There are a few threads comparing the two and with comments from people who have switched from one to the other.
