I setup my in-laws Uneekor EYE XO with TGC 2019 last week and we've been having a lot of fun with it. I was more impressed with the putting than I thought I'd be, which got me thinking a little bit...
You're supposed to align the putt for break using the left and right arrows so that all you really have to do is hit a completely straight put. This is easy in theory, but (I think) you need to make sure that your putting line is oriented completely perpendicular to the sensor in order for it to calculate your face angle and path and all that correctly and give you real data about whether you're pushing/pulling etc. It could be really helpful in real life if you were able to get 100% accurate feedback on how straight your putt was every time on the sim.
You'd be able to practice hitting a straight putt 30-40 times (depending on your sim putting skill) every round, which could translate in to some great real world skill.
I was thinking, you could install a laser level in the ceiling that was carefully aligned to be 100% straight and perpendicular to the sensor. Then just putt down this line every time after aligning for break on the computer. You could even put a stick at the end of the line near the screen to get the satisfaction of hitting it. Or a ball return device.
What does everyone think about this idea?
