  • Commercial sim

    Here is my mission:

I am going to build a building beside my house for a simulator. I want to be able to host local tournaments. What is the best setup for that? Thanks!

That's a loaded question. What is your overall budget for the sim part (not the building part)?

$40k to 50k. Looking at the trugolf vista 12. I think the clubhouse feature looks good and should work for both right and left handed golfers. Just seeing if there was a better solution out there. Thanks!

Trugolf doesn’t measure spin. If your dropping that much money, at least go with a real launch monitor lol

The trugolf is just under $30,000, but if there is a better solution for a little more money, I open to listening.

GC2, GCQuad, uneekor QED, eyeXO, trackman a fraction of the price and much better performance.

There is an enormous amount of information all these systems on these forums

Foresight GC Hawk might be a good option. TXG is using one in their new spot. They have a video on their online channel of a session that they had done about a month ago. Check out that video as it might give you an idea of what is possible

I'd suggest looking at aboutGolf simulator for commercial purposes. Hands down it is the most realistic simulator I have played on. Group I play with drives an hour each way to play on 3 aboutGolf simulator booths once per week during the winter months. Good luck.

I'm a little confused by your question. Why do you want/need a "commercial" golf sim? Ive played on an old school 3bays "commercial" system. It sucked. I recently played on trackman at a local place. It was excellent. Now, given that you want to host "local" tournaments, I would say stay away from GC2, GCQuad, or Skytrak. If there is a chance of a Lefty, or a errant shot, I'd like to keep my chances down that I would have a piece of equipment that would break.

That leaves in my opinion in the Non-commercial side:
              Uneekor EYEXO
              Foresight GCHawk

Advantages: Both have great courses you can buy either through Uneekor or Foresight (FSX 2020, although supposedly 2021 is coming soon), or you could go with E6, or TGC2019.

A lot of commercial environments would probably only use E6 because of the ease of use, TGC2019 offers way more courses, but requires a bit more user input and know-how.

              On the commercial-side:

Trackman (Trackman Golf has beautiful courses, but you are going to be paying over $1K per year in fees)
              AboutGolf
              FullSwing
              TruGolf
HDGolf (You should reach out to Jay Lasco a98cr125 as he has this simulator, plus has been working through multiple variants of launch monitors and software in the last year)
GolfZon (I saw one, but didnt play on it. Looked gorgeous

              Personally,

with your budget, I'd consider either Trackman, HDGolf, or FullSwing.

I'd be interested in hearing your opinion. We are looking into a simulator that should cover its cost, is used by about 50-200 different people and should be accurate and easy to use. I've mostly looked at Uneekor Eye XO (seems to be quite a good choice) and Trackman (software probably outstanding, tracking maybe limited because of limited space in our room, might be an issue at high driver speeds, at least 10k more expensive), but I don't know anything about HD, Fullswing, AboutGolf, ..., I've only learned that Golfzon is probably too expensive and Trugolf does not measure spin.

So I am wanting a simulator that I can charge people by the hour to use. I also need the software to be able to run local tournaments. I'll definitely look into these. Thanks!
