Par 2 pro baffle to protect roll-up mechanism

Wondering if anyone can share experience with the par2pro baffle which hangs down to protect shots which could hit the roll-up cylinder at the top? Looks like from the drawing sent to me that this baffle hangs down in front of the screen and cuts out 18" of projectable screen image at the top? Is this adjustable? What is the purpose of it hanging over the screen?

I have that rollup screen and know what you mean. I don't have the baffles but you can definitely make your own in many ways. No need for them to hang much into the screen. I hit my roller today with a wedge and it wasn't really an issue .

Thanks for the feedback Diggitydog. Unfortunately, I already purchased them off of the recommendation from Par2Pro not realizing that it would cut the image down substantially. Do you know how much of the screen is blocked with this baffle?
