Hi All.. Just wanted to share my simulator experience for those in the market or curious about different simulators. I had posted my finished build about 6 months ago. Just giving an update on how things are going. I had originally started with the opti-shot 4 years ago. It was fun.. but just that. Fun. It was nice for the not so good golfers. Made them feel like real-golfers since it only really read the club coming through (not their ball bouncing off my garage door). Season two I switched to the Skytrak. Loved my Skytrak (if it was just me playing). Anyone that wasn't a "good" golfer struggled with it. Several mis-reads per round. My younger sons would take 2 to 3 shots before it would pick up sometimes. After 2 seasons with the Skytrak, I went all out on a simulator build. 14 ft screen.. Finished flooring.. Have my hitting mat sunk in the floor so it is level. Turned out pretty decent. After about 3 weeks playing with the SkyTrak I realized I needed more. And like I said. the SkyTrak was a great piece of equipment for the price. You won't not like it. But anyway... I researched and researched.. watched countless youtube videos. Reached out to many of the YouTube video hosts. Got a lot of advice.. And selected the Uneekor QED. I'm in love. If I had to choose between it and my wife, she might be moving out. Been using it now for about 5 months or so. I am so confident in it, that I recently started hosting a league for a dozen or so of my friends. These guys range anywhere from scratch to 18 or so handicaps. We are on week one and everyone is having a great time. And i'm pretty proud watching them come in and enjoy themselves. A great feature with QED is being able to instantly watch their swing replay to see what they've done wrong (or right). A few of them have gone to high end golf simulator bars that use hardware that costs 3 times as much as mine.. and said mine feels more realistic. I use the Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat which is nice, and you can use real tees which is a big bonus. TGC2019 is hands down my favorite. I purchased E6 when I had my Skytrak. It felt maybe a little less "video-gamish" but the graphics weren't quite there. And you were limited to the amount of courses. I had considered purchasing it along with TGC2019 when I got my QED, but the price is a lot higher than it was for Skytrak. My screen is a Carl's place 14ft screen. At first I was getting a lot of bounce back.. But with a few adjustments here and there over the course of a few weeks I got it to the point where there is little to no bounce back at all. The image displayed on the Carls Place screen seems more vivid than my last screen. Long story short. For the cost and value of the QED system, I wouldn't go any other direction. Plus, the quick support from Uneekor is top notch.

This is the exact post I need to read as a guy going from a Net Return (Great net) with a ES Tour Plus (Not a bad device) to raising my garage rails (not cheaply) and buying a new impact screen.. I want to upgrade to the Uneekor and this feels like it's a good move. I simply am so frustrated with my 110+ driver swings, which happen 1 out of every 10 swings, only register 1 out of every 10 times...I need a device that can improve my game, Uneekor sounds like the one.My Published Course:
Green Harbor (L) - MA, Marshfield, MA
Stow Acres North (L) - MA, Stow MA

I honestly feel if you set it up right, you can’t go wrong. I felt like a purchased a commercial grade simulator for a fraction of the price. And that’s the reason I posted this. I needed this info back when I was making my decision.

Thanks for the writeup. Having the experience with so many devices and setups is useful.
I'm at stage 2 with a skytrak and unfinished room. Not up to face stage 3, wife vs Uneekor, yet. One thing keeping me back is the golf balls on the QED and the price and club stickers on the EYEXO. One thing I have enjoyed is grabbing 4 different golf balls and whaling away on a couple different drivers. I found that I can hit a Snell MTX-B about 5-10y longer than my Pro V1x of many years. I don't want to have to think about pre-planning what ball. Guests can just use their ball of choice. Has that bothered you? I'm in a mode where it seems that the Skytrak is good enough until I can find that "perfect" and affordable device in 5 years or so.

At first I was a little Leary on the golf balls. To finish off my golf room my wife had actually purchased me a legit golf ball washer for Father’s Day. Thought it would be nice to have so my guests could wash their ball of choice prior to hitting into the screen.. but the dotted balls ended up not bothering me at all. I purchased a few dozen Bridgestone balls and a few dozen “proV” balls from urethane unicorns... and it doesn’t bother me at all. I honestly don’t even think about it. I have a golf rack and when someone comes and plays I just say “Bridgestone in the top rack and proV’s in the bottom” and rather than them thinking it’s a burden to use the dotted balls, they think it’s amazing they actually have a choice. If you’re a pro golfer then by all means I get using the “perfect ball”... but I’ve won plenty of tournaments and a couple club championships in my days and I don’t even think of it. I actually shot my best round and course record 20 years ago with an “Executive” golf ball. I will say, the urethane unicorns have impressive spin on the system. They definitely hold the greens on TGC2019 better than the Bridgestones. Distance between them is not apparent. But you can definitely tell the difference in the way they feel off the club face.

What adjustments did you make to reduce bounce back? How close is the screen to the back wall and are you using an dampening material behind the screen?

I have about 12 inches behind my screen. About 6 inches behind the screen I actually have an older screen that I previously used. You could probably use a thick blanket. I am getting no bounce back other than when someone tops a ball into the bottom of the screen. At that point it comes back at them a little.. But they deserve it.

I’m at stage 2 (SkyTrak) and can’t wait until I buy the EyeXO 8 weeks from now. Instant feedback on the path and club face impact will be amazing, especially since I’m focusing more on differential practice right now. I’m also looking forward to cleaning up the hitting area a bit.
Maybe just have a stand for a wireless keyboard and put the data on the TV after moving the laptop out of the way?1 Photo

I love my QED. The software update with club stickers has made it even better (clubhead speed is much more accurate). I don't mind the Bridgestones for driving; if I'm playing a round I'll use the BS off the tee and switch to the unicorns for the wedges. For the price point, I think it's one of the best values out there.
