  • Advice on new Golf Sim.

    Hi All.
I am from the UK and have just commissioned the build of an outside office for me to work from home in future. However I have asked for the office to be 6 x 4m and 3m in height for another reason....my dream of a home golf simulator. The building itself isn’t cheap so I am conscious around money. However I am desperate for something accurate and that gives club head path data as I am trying to work on my horrible inside club path procuring hooks and pushes.
The GC quad is my dream but it’s just so expensive to get everything set up. I am just not sure I can justify that expense with two younger kids and a wife! However I just think I will always doubt the sky track and it doesn’t give club data. I don’t know much about the Uneekor system as it doesn’t seem prominent in the UK. I love golf and love technology so desperate for one but stuck between a cheaper system I can comfortably afford and one that I want that just seems sooooooo much money.
Any advice welcome. It’s all I have thought about for about 4 weeks and I think I must have watched about 1000 YouTube videos 🤦‍♂️.
    thanks in advance 🙏

I would have a look at uneekor at least depending where you are in UK golf tech systems have it in their showroom and you can test it out once we are out of lockdown. I went down there last August and loved it but already had a skytrak and Ager 30k build couldn’t warrant the extra expense

Ive got the Mevo+ which is a great unit for the price, i did have Skytrak for a short while also. What about a meet in the middle with a GC2? also a cracking bit of kit ive used at my local driving rage for a club fitting. Although i agree the Uneekor looks amazing and may be worth the investment if you can stretch to that.

Wow 30k for the Uneekor? I will check out where the demo is. Might not be too far.

No I had an extension build in first lockdown to house my sim! Uneekor is cheaper is US than UK though if you have any family or friends out there that could buy it for you

The GC2 doesn’t have club head data does it and that’s something I am really keen on 😫. If you add an HMT then it’s almost the same price as the Quad....I think. There seems to be a big gap in the market after the sky track system and before track man and GC systems.

You have to purchase add-ons (unlocked software) for club data on the Quad as well. They do not give it to you for free.

Yeh cheers for flagging that. Already at 5k but will keep an eye on it. I don’t know what sort of warranty you get on it from new? Interesting to see how much it goes for.

Has anyone heard about Uneekor, doing a portable launch monitor?

Is that option available, buy it via a US-based contact but use it elsewhere internationally or after shipping, taxes etc. I wasn’t sure how support/updates would work and whether the US Uneekor or the in-country Uneekor distributor would end up providing this support. I’d be keen to know if anyone knows the answer as prices are much higher outside US for the same product!

I think you have to come up with your use case first. Practice vs Sim. Ball data vs club data would generally cover it.

In my case, I was Practice oriented and wanted club data. That put me (6 years ago) into a Flightscope X2 (used) which has been perfect for me since then. I'm only now starting to think about Sim integration, which I think I can pull off, depot the lack of official support. Clearly, price matters, which, if you can do the integration stuff yourself, could be managed with used equipment, whether it be GC2, Flightscope X3, Xi, Mevo, etc.

I owned a Skytrack (albeit an early version) first and did not find it worked for me effectively. That said, they have clearly done good job on the SIM side, despite (for me) an unacceptable amount of lag.
