  • Looking for some advice on a camera setup for a simulator room I am building:

I am looking to setup a two camera system, and possibly one overhead in the future.

The software I was looking to use since it is open source is https://www.kinovea.org/features.html

If anyone has used this software and let me know how it is that would be great! Or if you know of another free or affordable software for personal use that would be wonderful.

Ideally I would like to use ethernet to power the cameras and connect to my computer in the system. I would run a hub from my router, and connect the cameras/computer together off that hub.

I am looking for some camera suggestions that are around $500 a piece, I found these guys acA640-300gc Balster but open to suggestions, and if anyone has used them how do you like the performance.

    Thanks for the help!

    Great idea. A couple questions:
    1. What launch monitor are you planning on using?
    2. What are you using these cameras for? Analyze your swing?

      skytrak

That is the main idea and to be able to send video to some teachers to give me instruction.

Kinovia is terrific. I have cameras that are about $150 ea, Kayteon. They do 120 fps which is fine for swing plane and positioning but will not track club head or freeze at impact. If you are going to spend up I would want at least 240 fps.
