  • Building a Golf Simulator for the Man Cave!

    Hi everyone,

My name is Jerry and I'm getting ready to build out a golf simulator room in my basement. This room would be adjacent to my bar (pic attached), I've been visiting this site as guest and just joined as a member. You guys are 1st class in your knowledge of this fragmented, non standardized market! Here is some more background...

    - I'm looking for an accurate system, easy to use and utilizes the best software graphics (TGC and or E6)
    - I would use it for practice to improve my game but also want to play golf with friends
    - I live on a golf course so the ability to take the device to the range is a plus
    - my room has 10' ceilings, 13'2" wide, 22' long (width probably limits me to right hand play only)
    - looking for a professional finished product room, started working designs with John @ Custom Design Golf
    - I was leaning towards a GC2 with Protee software which includes TGC but saw the announcement this week that Protee will no longer sell their software independent of hardware (bummer)
    - I'm also interested in the Skytrak with E6 but it doesn't have TGC or a good putting solution
    - that leads me to a pure Protee system to get the software I want but I no longer have a device to take to the range

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance...

    Jerry

Zmax, thanks for the reply. I get your message, i.e. " Build out your room and new / better hardware & software options will be available in the market shortly". Got it!
I'm building an enclosure to cover the walls and ceiling with plywood covered with carpet. Will I need 2 overhead lights, one for the hitting mat and one for a putting mat?

    Thanks!

If you go with ProTee, you will need two overhead lights.
