  • Which software

Having forked out nearly 4k building a structure to house my mevo which should be here In the next two weeks, my thoughts turned to which software to get.
All have their own usp, tgc has all the courses, cg3d has great features and e6 has the price as you can pay subscription, really stuck on which is best value.

Tgc2019 and e6 are probably the two top choices

Best value is tgc without a doubt. More courses, better graphics, cheaper in the long run because its just a one time payment. In your other thread you asked about augusta and st. andrews and other top courses not being in e6. They're all in tgc.

without a doubt, TGC 2019. I was struggling with that same decision between e6 and TGC2019 a year about but am so glad that I made this decision. In 1 year I have played over 400 rounds of simulated golf and have designed close to 20 courses of my own, and there is a great community of online tournaments. I am sure that I would have gotten bored of the number of courses on e6 by now. The one-time/lifetime fee for TGC has already paid for itself many times over in my opinion. If they came out with a SIM upgrade to 2K21 and even if I had to eat the cost of 2019 to upgrade, I would probably still feel that I got my money's worth out of 2019 in just over 1 year of use (not to mean I would be willing to pay $900/year).

I haven't seen E6, but hard to complain about TGC 2019. New courses show up every week. If one you like is missing, you can make it or hire it out. TGC has a hard first bounce, but otherwise pretty legit. For me, playing courses I have played IRL is the best.

The only trouble is tgc I have been told us expensive one off payment, but, e6 can be played as a monthly subscription, I think this could sway it for me as spent all the cash on building SIM structure and mevo.
if I could pay off tgc monthly I would rather have that I think, to play all the top courses.

I have both E6 and TGC2019 with my preference being TGC, and it's not even close. In terms of value, no question it's worth the money.

Yes but you have to consider the fact that you'll be paying those e6 subscription fees forever. So yes, tgc is more expensive up front but which one is more expensive in the long run? Only about 2-3 years worth of e6 subscriptions is equal to a lifetime tgc. There is zero question which one is the better value. If you need to pay it off monthly throw it on a credit card.

They are both really good and I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy either. I will say that often overlooked and really really good is CG3D. There are some great European courses you will not find on either TGC or E6. The Irish coastal courses are fantastic and I find the gameplay to be solid particularly with Uneekor. The graphics are not on the same tier as TGC but I do prefer the gameplay.

Having both I agree with this. CG3D seems more realistic in certain areas particularly approaching the green. But TGC19 remains in my rotation given the course options and ability to build your own favorite/home courses.
