Greetings forum! Long time stalker, first time poster...
First off, you are all great, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the comments, view points, and checking out all of the awesome sims the community has built over the years. Definitely one of my most frequent, and favorite places to visit on the interwebs when I want to venture down the simulator rabbit hole.
Currently I am working on a sim project for a buddy and we are trying to determine the way forward regarding the launch monitor solution. We want portability, no sensors or hardware in the direct field of view, and no mats with imbedded sensors on, or built into a raised floor.
We were quick to get on the list for the Full Swing KIT when it was announced back in November, but their lack of divulging additional details is leading us to explore other, more immediate options. It seems uncertain which 3rd party software the KIT is going to be compatible with at launch since they have their own FullSwing Golf software that will most likely be availble shortly after, if not directly available at launch, so right now we are leaning towards picking up a MEVO+ and purchasing both the lifetime TGC2019 license, as well as the $300 basic annual membership for E6.
This leads to my primary question...the E6 software, when not purchased in conjunction with the Mevo+ (or SkyTrak) is $2500 for PC...is it then imperative that I select the $300 or $600 option when we buy the MEVO+ to avoid this $2500 cost, or will I be able to simply activate the annual subscription with E6 connect at a later date and install the software on my PC without paying the $2500 simply because I'm using it with a MEVO? Both software packages will be on a custom PC I am currently building (AMD Ryzen 5600X, w/ Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB GDDR6) I just want to make sure I understand how the licensing is going to work for the software.
When the FS KIT does finally come out, and our name is called for fulfillment, the idea would be that, whichever 3rd party Full Swing choses to support at launch, we will already have, and we could potentially sell the MEVO+ if we want to, or potentially keep it and decide not to get the Kit?
I posted the 2D of our site and some 3D renderings for fun. If any of the pro builders see opportunities to improve, or alternative routes we could go, we are open to suggestions!
Our initial budget was 15K, but HVAC and GPU procurement created some overages, so probably going to come in closer to 18-20K US. We went with the 5' deep pro enclosure from Carl's with premium impact screen and procured the aluminum pipe from a local metal shop (ETA for enclosure is 15 April). If we go with the MEVO+, we could potentially be up and running by May 1st, which would be awesome since currently we are still waiting for a "summer 2021" launch for the KIT...which is a bit vague...Let me know what you think, and if anyone knows how the software licensing works with the MEVO+!
Cheers,
Ted K.
