  • Attention: to all double display IE. monitor/projector users

HI, Just finishing up on my build. I have a 38 inch widescreen monitor at 3840x1600 max resolution. I have the BenQ 4k projector at 3840x2160 resolution.

I would like my computer monitor and my projector to duplicate screens so I can control the golf simulator software from my computer looking at the monitor there rather than looking at the projector screen. The problem I am having is when I duplicate to the projector thru windows (or vice versa) windows defaults the resolution to the lesser of the two resolutions, in this case the 3840x1600 which looks terrible on the projector screen.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue? Is there a way to duplicate the screens so i can control the golf sim software from the computer monitor while still enjoying 4k resolution on the projector screen.

I am aware this may be an easy fix and therefore a stupid question, but I have tried everything and just can't figure this out.

    Thanks.

Have you set your projector as your main display? Not sure if it will work, but is all I could think of.

Yeah, Windows 10 really sucks at this. It is relatively easy when extending displays, but when duplicating (mirroring), setting different resolutions just isn't possible within windows 10 - strangely it was possible in previous versions. You can try a 3rd party utility (ultramon as an example) but I have no personal experience with them.
