  • Durability Of Golf Launch Monitor and Sim Technology

    Hello,

I want to invest in a golf launch monitor that has the capabilities of sim technology and have it work for AT LEAST THREE OR SO YEARS - is this possible?

It seems that with the Full Swing monitor, price points will change this summer if it is launched, but at the $2,000-$6,000 tier - my number one concern is durability, and second is its ability to function properly (which I would assume they should at these price-points).

You should expect many years of use out of a decent launch monitor. That's not to say it won't need to be serviced now and then, but you should be expecting far more than 3 years.

I bought my Skytrak in 2016 and it’s still going strong. Have replaced the USB board but it’s been awesome. I’ve used it regularly for those 5 years hitting tens of thousands of shots.

Any noticeable difference in terms of longevity between Mevo+, SkyTrak, and GC2? Are all essentially the same?

Mevo+ has only been out for a little over a year so impossible to say. Honestly I don't think you have much to worry about. These aren't cell phones that crap out after 2 years and need replacing. If they were going dead after only a few years they wouldn't be in business.
