  • Enclosure Depth

Contractors started the actual build-out of the space today and I am ordering my enclosure today as well. I have one final question. For those of you who have played or own a 5-foot depth enclosure, is there a big risk of a topped shot hitting the ceiling? What about wedges? My enclosure will be 116''(H) x 186.6''(W) x 60'' (D). I taped everything off but it is really hard to visualize the risk of a ceiling strike...Thanks as always for any advice!

I think it depends on how far you're hitting into the screen. I hit a 65 degree wedge into an 8' high impact screen from about 8' away and have never hit over the screen. With that being said my son likes to tee his driver up pretty high and he has skyed shots almost straight up. Lucking I have a net protecting the ceiling.

Thanks! My tee area will be about 10 feet from the screen, so about 5 feet from the front of the enclosure...May have to figure out a netting solution for the ceiling...Clevelander and Bucks fan here too!!!!

If the enclosure is 5’ from the ball and nearly 10’ high … no ball that makes contact with a club face will go over the enclosure. Only those that make contact with the top of the club.

I have a similar size enclosure. I haven’t hit the ceiling, but with wedges (sw, lw) I do hit the top of the enclosure quite often with the golf ball. I’m about 8 feet from screen, so either I move up a couple feet or don’t take full swings with those clubs

When you stand 8 feet from the screen, are you ever close to getting a ball that bounces back off the screen near you? I'd love to move the hitting area to 8 -9 feet, but Carl's says no less than 10ft....

Only bounce back at me is if I hit one into the metal framing lol. Otherwise it hits the screen and typically just rolls back to me. I don’t have a carls enclosure though, so ymmv

I am thinking the same thing, I am just worried about topped shots...
