I am new to projectors and I’m running a Optoma 1090 HDR. It doesn’t have a hdmi arc port. I am building a golf simulator and I want to run a sound bar. My question is will the sound bar hook into the projector or the PC ? If it connects to the PC what is the common way to connect it ?

I do not think you would need ARC for a sound bar. ARC is typically used if you have an audio signal coming from a device (i.e. TV over the air) and you want to send it back to you receiver. In this case you would probably want to run a 3.5mm audio cable (headphone type cable) from the projector to the sound bar. The projector will be getting the audio signal from the PC via HDMI and will output it over the 3.5mm audio output rather than the internal projector speakers.
You may also be able to run it from the PC to the sound bar as well but you may have to tweak the audio settings on the PC for that.

I run a 3.5mm line out from the projector to my sound bar. The sound bar is mounted overhead really close to my projector.TGC 2019 Published Courses:

My PC (as well as Apple TV) has its HDMI running to my Sony soundbar and the HDMI output from the soundbar runs to my projector.Originally posted by Bflem55 View PostI am new to projectors and I’m running a Optoma 1090 HDR.
