Little help on premium golf sim recommendation?

Hi all -

I've spent the last week trying to narrow down my search for a simulator. The content on this forum has been super helpful, but I haven't gotten to a decision yet. I know these posts are common, but thought it was worth a try to share my requirements to see if there's feedback on what I'm missing. Here's what is important to me.

- I've got lots of space (putting this in my shop), so currently thinking up to 25 x 20 x 16h will be my sim area
- Less worried about budget, $50-60K seems to be cost for a really nice installed system. I'm mediocre tech savvy, but having time to DIY is a challenge, I'd rather pay to get something fairly bullet proof and fully installed
- I'm a lefty, 15 handicap. Most of my friends are righty, so need something where I'm not moving hardware around.
- I've got 2 small kids, so like the multisport for them
- Likely indoor use only. I have access to a club pro that uses trackman to measure all the good stuff if I get more serious about that stuff
- Connected is cool, but not a hard requirement. My good friend on East Coast is installing trackman, which apparently is coming out with a connected version

My assessment so far:
- Trackman is probably my leading option right now. Seems to be highly accurate. Not sure how to feel about all of their content/courses being proprietary. It's compatible with the TruGolf multi-sport package for the kids. Sounds like they take care of all setup, which is great.
- TruGolf also looks good. I had read some reviews that accuracy is a question (no, or less accurate, spin speed, etc, but other reviews show it's accurate). E6 Connect seems like a good solution (but arguably inferior to TGC 2019). However, def has the multi-sport option and connected playing.
- All of the pro marketing for Full Swing had me leaning that way, but upon reading reviews, I see lots of things that give me pause. Also, sounds like lots of prep work I'd have to do with a contractor which doesn't excite me. And $80K-ish is expensive compared to the others above

Have you thought about any of the ovethead units such as GCHawk or Uneekor EYEXO? The GCHawk has multisport. The TruGolf multisport can be added to any sim and you can get that plus the EYEXO for less than the GCHawk. The nice thing about Uneekor is it connects to just about every 3rd party sim software out there, whereas Foresight and Trackman are relatively closed systems. The nice thing about overhead is it's out of the way from getting damaged, especially with kids. You have tall ceilings so would need some poles to lower the height of the unit, shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks for the response. I briefly checked out EYEXO online, but it looked more like a solution that I'd have to part together and build vs having a full install done. The reviews on EYEXO seem great, tho. Do you know if there are options to have a fully built/installed system if I were to consider that route? I do like the overhead systems for the reason you mentioned.

I'm not sure on the specs of the PC or projector, I'm sure you can find it or email them. So you could do something like this and hire your own contractor to install everything. If you don't have a contractor, I've found Thumbtack is a good way to find tradespeople.

Foresight does offer build and install services, so if you want them to handle a GCHawk setup, that's an option.

You can also find small companies or services that offer a golf sim build and they can piece it all for you. If they're not local, maybe they can't install it, but you could hire a contractor to do that. A lot of options out there!

Considering your aims for the sim. I agree the gc hawk id your best option and that’s not an attempt to deprofile other excellent units on the market.
regarding install.
don’t underestimate a good electrician. I say this because the main scope of work is power supply and cabling. A good electrical outfit could warrant a conversation.
another Avenue is the tech company that completes work in your children’s school. I say this because if you speak with the principal they could give you contact details for their suppliers. They specialise in classrooom interactive boards , projectors etc. You would be surprised how professional and I.T. savvy they are. Not to mention they could price a lot better for you.

I would recommend the Trackman given your budget and lack of time for DIY. I met the local trackman rep before doing new simulator build. They are very professional and have a great product. I just didn't have the budget to go with Trackman. If your friend has one as well, that's just an added bonus.

E6 Connect seems like a good solution (but arguably inferior to TGC 2019).

*Arguably* is the right word. In fact, E6 might be better for your needs since most TGC enthusiasts recommend a hardware add-on for optimal enjoyment. E6 is better out of the box than TGC, has more live-play features, and wins by a nose in terms of gameplay.
