  • Golf Simulator Injuries

Just checking to see if anyone else has injured themselves from sim golfing. Last night I fired a second shot with a 5 wood and it hit something. It came back and hit me in the face. I left a trail of blood through the garage all the way to the bathroom. I was hitting into a comforter/photo backdrop/net. This hasnt happened before but thinking maybe I should reevaluate my set up. Or maybe just get a helmet with a face shield. 🤣

Scottygolf and Anagn1cc - yes, I did do it (on the left side)... I'm almost done, but you can see in my latest photos I bought the 1" - 1.5" thick gym mats and ended up grommeting them on the top to hang them down. I did run a few small pieces of velcro under them and on the mats to hold them closer to the wall.

Here's the pics on my post:
Hi Everyone, I'm starting this post as a way to keep myself accountable. The tasks are huge, but not insurmountable as I'm having to do all my build work by myself. Contractors are either non-existent in this post-pandemic marketplace, or they have so much work they are 3 months out! I'll be posting up here as I make

(Look at the last pic, you can see along the left the gym mats I hung up), these are the ones I purchased on Amazon, they were around $70 for 2, so $35/each or so - not bad considering I've seen others that go for close to $100/each:

    Gym Mats:

Here is the Grommet Tool I used (also from Amazon):

Also see in the last pic, along the left/right sides, and along the entire top (covering the wire that hangs my screen) is Bumpers that I made by wrapping them in Commando Cloth (from Chicago Canvas). The Gutter Foam is from Home Depot, 4' sections for around $5:

Get the 'double-nap' Commando Cloth, I think it's 19'10"x9.5' double nap, very expensive, but worth it - I've not found anything else like it, around $150/for 5 yard minimum:
Chicago Canvas & Supply's 16 oz. Black Commando Cloth is an economical fire resistant fabric ideal for masking. Available from 4'6"- 9'10". Order online.

I did also try some Muslin material which I will use for the rest of the final pieces up above, from Amazon (around $50), this one:
