  • Finished my build out

I've been lurking around for some time now. I think I've read just about everything possible on anything possible. Got my setup in the garage. Hitting cage. Is 10' wide 9' high and 7' nets and screens all set. I've hit driver still have all my teeth. I've been kicking around ideas for a bit which is mostly my girlfriends fault. Mid winter whilst I was wasting another cold buffalo winter night playing video games she says " imagine what you could accomplish if you spent this time doing something productive" so I decided I will no longer pay to play at the local range and went and built my own. Now I need to decide on the device. It has to be a lm because my garage is detached and secure but I can't envision leaving 6k plus worth of electronics in my garage. I like both the gc2 (accuracy is literally the most important thing to me) no point hitting 300 shots a day if you have no clue what they are doing. Gc2 software isn't ideal I thought I was set with gc2 and Protee but it seems that it isn't a guaranteed thing going forward. Gc2 software prices are crazy however the software is current and functional. I also like skytrak (price and seems at least fairly accurate ) however watching videos for skytrak. the time from hitting to seeing the ball flight is nearly unacceptable. The second downfall is software for sim isn't currently available. I don't need the sim up and running today nor for a few months but in buffalo summer could end at any point. I just figured if I was to buy a used gc2 now would be the time when the demand is low during golf season. Sorry for the rambling hoping to get some opinions and hopefully get to play some sim golf all winter.

2480, this is like the question that plagues man... A golfing man anyway. This exact same question comes up every 2 months or so. Lots of other threads with opinions and facts to consider. Check them out. That said, you have to consider your main purpose here. For the price Skytrack is hard to beat. If you're primarily focusing on a driving range, ST is the clear choice. If putting and short chips are huge to you, ST isn't an option for you yet and it has to be GC2. If playing a round of virtual golf is important, ST is out again. From my perspective, these are THE most important factors to consider. Used GC2s are hard to find. Make sure it's a GC2a if you want ProTee/TGC. TGC will probably show up with ST at some point, but it will be a good while. Love my ProTee/TGC combo with GC2! BUT... I hate not having a solid driving range. ProTee's is pretty weak. TGC will have a range at some point, but again, it'll be a while. Don't wait. You'll never time it perfectly. Go with your gut based on your primary reason for getting a LM, and you'll be pretty happy with the direction you go. Good luck!
