  • Start with Mevo+ then upgrade?

I eventually want to get a Uneekor Eye XO. However I have thought about starting with an Mevo+ that way, i can spend money on the play area and make it nice, then in the future upgrade. Who has done a similar thing? Any regrets?

    Thanks.

This is also my intention, though I may have a GC3 or GC2+HMT step in between. My three kids are all under 4 but the oldest is definitely LH, possibly the middle one too and my father is LH as well, so overhead or down-the-line is the endgame. Either EyeXO with the Mevo+ to take on vacation or to the range, or just X3. Undecided on that one yet.

My experience with Mevo+ has been mostly positive. There's finicky bits to setup and the instructions for using the software aren't robust, but the learning curve is fairly shallow so you should get the hang of it quickly.

Just be aware that drive, fairway woods and possibly long hybrid (depending on indoor flight distance and ball speed) will likely have higher spin numbers than you'll see outdoors, so carry distance may not be totally accurate. I have 170+ mph driver ball speed with 11.5' of flight and I'll still get about 1000-1500rpm higher than the same ball off the course tee. This isn't a knock against the unit, just a limitation of measuring spin with space constraints and high ball speed. It mostly affects simulated golf, since the ball speed, AoA, CHS, launch angles and other non-spin parameters are still trustworthy under those conditions - only total spin and shot shape (resulting from spin axis) might be suspicious with big stick. I don't have Pro package yet but a few users in the Flightscope subforum have reported it makes indoor drilling nicer because even if the flight numbers seem wonky, the club data lets you know you're on the right track.

From 4i down, I have zero complaints. Fantastic unit for the money indoors (with the proper space) and it's a beast outside.

If you have the space for a Mevo+, then it's a great entry level device. This plan makes sense if you plan to keep the Mevo+ for outdoor use after you buy the EYEXO. Depending on how much you want to spend initially and how you'd like your space to look once it's finished, there could be a different strategy that could save you money in the long run. Feel free to reach out to us at info@par2pro.com if you'd like to discuss this in more detail.
