Hi Everyone,
Ok, I've been lurking up here for months, and have chatted with a few of you. I hoped to build my sim last Winter but the budget was not ready for that, and I've still got the 2nd floor addition (with a vaulted ceiling) to consider before I can start to feel this is coming...
My Background:
1.) I did purchase TGC Windows Desktop version and I'm running that, it's great, but I know it's not going to have the same feel, once I run a sim with it.
2.) I went to a local sim/bar that was running all GC2 (foresight), and the told me they tested all of them, and this was the most accurate. I found it to be stiff (especially with the short game), the gimmes were set at 10 feet, and short game putting was difficult to judge. The whole thing hurt my wrists after playing 18 holes on it (and I never have wrist issues).
Here's my 'laundry list' of what I'm looking for, and let anyone chime in on what they're using - as well as advantages/disadvantages of those systems.
Here's what I'm looking for (prioritized by highest first):
---------
1.) Accurate data
2.) Online game play - eventually I want to play online with others frequently.
3.) Short game accuracy putting, so I can also practice my putting game, and get fairly realistic simulation
4.) Short game accuracy chipping/short game. I'd still like fairly accurate short game readings, and able to hit chips/simulate sand shots, etc.
5.) Practice range on the simulator - definitely need this, something with statistcal data would be nice, what I see on TGC is not going to come close to what I want.
That's all I can think of for now.... Your opinions on which Sim I should consider are welcomed, it will help me make my decision.... Currently I'm leaning to getting started with an Optishot, as the lower price might help my budget, though I've also had a look at P3 and it looks like it may be more feature-rich and offer better online game play right now then the Optishot?
I;m trying to keep m y price down for now - with hopes that I can eventually afford to replace this system with ProTee/TGC setup.
What do you think?
Thanks,
-Brett
