Screen Replacement

I have a Foresight Sim-in-a-Box simulator and since I can not move my hitting location much in my room, I have a fairly narrow impact location on my screen. I am not in need of replacing the screen just yet so I am thinking ahead. The screen is 13' x 8' and my impact area is about 18" by 2-3' - meaning I use less than 5% of my screen.

I was thinking about adding reenforcement behind that section and possibly drop a strip of screen from the top over that area. I would not try to sew the flap to the screen because that would cause tears, but just have something over the top.

Has anyone done something like this? If so can you relate your experience and your suppliers?

Is it in center of screen?

I have a 4:3 screen size and bought square so I could rotate it 4 times.

You should be able to rotate and flip the screen and use it as four separate screens depending on strike location.

It is not square and it has velcro that attaches it to the frame. I am going to rearrange things so I can hit in a wider pattern as well. I will see if I can change its position, but there is an impact netting that is also attached by velcro and then the screen that is projected on - everything is held in place with velcro on 3 sides, so it might be able to be flipped horizontally.

I think that their design should be the same as now with an addition of a hitting panel that could be attached anywhere to account for this - on an 8 x 13 screen, you could have panels that were 8 x 8 and attach that wherever you are hitting and then replace only the smaller panel instead of the whole screen, which no one is going to wear out the edges. Foresight is a great company but they have never checked back in with me about issue I have or modifications I made or think should be made.

That is a shame because the way you create a killer product is to ask your customers what they want - pretty simple method to close the loop on their design.
