  • What do I need now?

    Hey everybody,
I need some of your expertise. I recently acquired a GC2 that was sold by golfsmith when they closed. It did not come with a dongle or any kind of licensing. I have the 1 demo course and driving range. What do I need to build on this? Is it best to buy a dongle with courses on ebay? Will that work without anything from Foresight?

    Thank you all

Well, there are several ways you can go. If you want to stick with Foresight sports, you will need to contact them and transfer the ownership/registration of the unit to you (I believe there is a fee). Then you will need to purchase FSX2020 at a minimum to add additional courses, then purchase additional courses. YMMV if you go the 2nd hand route for courses.

Now that said, the major advantage of the GC2 is you are not tied to Foresight sports. Personally I would look at TGC2019 or the 'software which shall remain nameless' as better options at this stage. IMO, FSX Play (the upgrade to FSX2020) is a bit of a mess right now, and the whole ecosystem is quite costly. Lots of video reviews of golf software (on here and elsewhere). Do a bit of digging and you will find the sweet spot for your plans.

    Good Luck!

Thank you. I've been researching going the TFC2019 route.
