Hey all ,Just joined the site and in the contemplative phase of the golf sim game. My buddy has a GCQuad and another has a Skytrak and Ive hit a bit on them and looking into options. I tend to do wayyyy too much research so just looking for a bit of practical guidance here. I could not find a thread on general guidance for choosing launch monitors so figured I would ask. I would likely be building out in my Gym our in the back of my shop. 12' ceilings and a couple of 14-15' wall options. Total Space is 24x27x12. Wifey would like it more or less builtin to look nice. Not sure if she wants it builtin formally with side walls vs am enclosure. We golf casually but now both of us and our 6 and 7 yo kids are getting into it more. Reasonably handy and tech savy-ish. Son if a leftie and the rest of us are righties. One of our good friends will use it alot too and is a leftie. Looking at the Uneekor EyeXO, GCQuad, and even Skytrak but open to many options. Oviously would love to not have to move monitor side to side but not hard stop. Are there ever used Uneekor EyeXOs for sale now that the 2 is coming out? Any assistance would be helpful even if it is a referral to another thread. Thanks

From your short writeup it sounds like Uneekor Eye XO is your choice, to be transparent I own one so I'm slightly biased. Generally, if your in the market for an XO or Quad, then SkyTrak is not part of the conversation, there is too much of a difference. In addition, with the multiple lefties that will be playing you don't want the hassle of moving the Quad back and forth, you'd want an overhead LM making it seamless.

I just went through a similar comparison. Lots of info on this forum to help provide some information, but at the end of the day will need to make your own decision. I was heavily comparing the EyeXO and GCQuad like you are, and ended up with the GCQuad and am very happy with it. I was able to catch it on a Foresight sale of $2,000 off to narrow up the cost difference between them. Plus have the ability to take it to the range if I want. I imagine the EyeXO/XO2 would have been great as well. It is very easy to move the Quad from rightys and leftys. Just have to pick it up and move. Can re-align if you want, but pretty easy. Just depends on what your plans are going to be with it, and where your cost-factor comes in. If I didn't catch the sale on the Quad, I probably would have went with the EyeXO.

I have a Skytrak and a son that's a lefty and can tell you it's a pain in the ass moving it back and forth. Moving it is easy, lining it back up, changing the setting in the software, etc is a pain. Some of it can be done with profiles in TGC and stuff like that I think, but in the long run I'm looking at upgrading to an overhead if he starts wanting to play a lot more.

If Quad is within your budget then I would be looking at the EYE XO2 system. Compare as well with GC Hawk for apples to apples comparison. As mentioned, with lefties involved regularly, you want something mounted overhead. And once you trial EYE XO2/GC Hawk, you will not be satisfied with Skytrack.

I have looked at the Eye XO2 and with the current $2000 off I have been debating going with that vs the Eye XO. Do you expect the bigger hitting area being worth the extra $2000? Do you think the extra camera will come into play in the future with more accuracy or capability?

I use an XO and with the $2k off I may have sprung for that had it been available but it'd be real close, for 4k not a chance.

This is good advice. I have a GCQuad with club data and love its capability, but I would have a ceiling mount if I had righty and lefty golfers.
If you get into the data, then you have to align the GCQuad every time you move it or its easy to be off a degree if just eyeballing it. It might only take 10 seconds to use the alignment stick, but after about 2 moves you are going to be annoyed.
Other thing to consider is what software do you intend to use for course play. Probably not enough to swing the LM decision, but its part of the cost and fun.

If you can afford it then the Uneekor Eye XO/XO2 make a great case for themselves. Particularly the former if you can get a good used one. Even then, you have a large space. I'd take a long and serious look at the Mevo + pro package with LH/RH ease along with a 26 foot Well Putt mat (a bit constrained sure, but you could use it for 20 foot putts easily) for great savings over the Uneekor.

Ocjae check out https://www.youtube.com/@GolfSimulatorVideos his videos are great and he has solid info on several systems, one being Uneekor.

Given you have lefties, IMO the only real option is EyeXO or EyeXO2, or a GCHawk. If you are able to center hit and not offset, then there is no real benefit I can see for an EyeXO2 vs. the EyeXO, unless the EyeXO2 goes on sale. But as others say, not worth a 4K upgrade.
While a Quad is great, moving it back and forth will get very old very quickly.

Hey Ocjae! ProTee United is soon to release 3 new overhead launch monitors! Reading your situation, we would recommend checking out the VX and the RLX. They are ceiling-mounted launch monitors using dual high-speed cameras measuring all your relevant ball and club data. The systems require no special marked balls or club stickers and we hope to be compatible with as many software as possible, allowing you to still choose the software that best fits you! The Launch Monitors range from $6500 to $7500 making it more affordable to enjoy a high-quality indoor golfing experience.
